Autumn History Walk in the Woods

Join experienced guide and Illinois Extension Master Naturalist Marcia Kittler for a guided walk through Blue Star’s beautiful autumn scenery. We’ll explore the area’s fascinating history, including who once stayed there and what they were up to. The hour-long walk will be mostly on even, wide, straight paths with the option to step off briefly. Walkers can return to cars at any point.
What to Bring: Water, optional brown bag lunch, lawn chair (backup seating if we cannot sit at a picnic table) and your smiles! Dress for woods/weather with sturdy hiking boots or gym shoes with traction. Sun and insect protection are recommended.
Logistics: After entering the public parking lot on the south side of E. Lake Ave. between Wagner and Harms Roads, meet near the picnic shelters. The walk will proceed in dry weather or soft rain/drizzle; a cancellation email will be sent by 10 am in the case of severe weather. Outhouses are located onsite with flush toilets available 10 minutes south at Harms Woods-Central.
