Be a Friend to a Refugee Youth
Exodus World Service is looking for volunteers to mentor refugee students and help them thrive this upcoming school year. Exodus plans to match over 100 students each with a volunteer by September 15, so every student has someone to encourage and mentor them as they head back to school this fall. Resettled refugee children often have to learn a new language and a new culture on top of their regular school subjects, and Exodus provides training, resources and support throughout your volunteer experience.
Two Ways to Help: Visit a refugee student in their home (1 hour weekly for 3 months), or volunteer at Kids Club at Exodus’s Heidi’s House center in Rogers Park (1.5 hours weekly or bimonthly for 3 months).
