SUMMARY:Kids Above All Backpacks
DESCRIPTION:Kids Above All Backpack Drive 2026 \nThis year we will focus on collecting supplies and filling backpacks for students in 2nd and 3rd grades and purchasing calculators for high school students. Our goal is to fill at least 24 backpacks. \nDonation Options: Purchase supplies from the SignUp Genius list and drop them off at the Grant Place entrance by Sunday\, August 2. If you order from the Amazon wish list\, be sure to have items sent to your home or to church so they can be part of the First UMC donation to Kids Above All. \nHow to Give: By Zelle to finance@parkridgeumc.org\, or by check or giving envelope. Please write "Backpack Drive" on the memo line for any giving method. DESCRIPTION:Social: Mix n' Mingle Summer Kickoff Get-Together \nDate: Saturday\, July 18\nTime: 6:30–8:30 pm — please note the NEW later start time!\nLocation: Lisa Shewfelt's home in Park Ridge (address provided when you RSVP)\nPlease Bring: Yourself\, having eaten a light meal beforehand — there's no need to bring your own dinner anymore! Feel free to BYOB if you like. A camp chair is optional; if you have one in the car\, great\, but don't worry about it.\nRSVP and Questions: Contact Lisa Shewfelt as soon as you can\, or call 312-518-8090 \nMix n' Mingle is back! Come and reconnect\, catch up\, and find out about your next group for the Fall. This adult fellowship group meets in 2 rotating cycles\, Spring and Fall. Each cycle\, the groups will consist of ideally 6 people\, meeting 3 times each cycle. Each group plans their own activity. Singles and couples of all ages are welcome. Lisa will provide snacks (chips and dips\, a veggie tray\, and a fruit tray)\, desserts\, iced tea\, lemonade\, and paper goods\, and new groups will be shared that evening. Anyone new to Mix n' Mingle is especially welcome to join us!
